Hair Technique - Braids and Fishtail

Plaiting
In order to plait, prep the hair by brushing thoroughly. Asses the hair and see if you need to put any products in.

Classic Plait.
·         Part the hair into three sections.
·         Take the left strand and cross this over the middle strand.
·         Take the right strand and cross this over the middle strand.
·         Do this until you have used up the hair. Use a hair tie to secure the plait.

Fishtail Plait.
·         Tie the hair into a low ponytail to keep the hair under control.
·         Section the hair into two parts.
·         Take a piece of hair from the right section and place on to the third.
·         Take a piece from the left section and place it on to the right.
·         Let go of the pieces when you have placed them onto the other section.
·         Do this until you have a fishtail plait. Secure with a hair band.
·         Take out the hair tie from the top of the hair. You can pull the hair out to create a messy plait or leave it smooth.

French Braid

·         To French braid take three sections of hair from the front of the head. Make sure that they are equal sized sections.
·         Take the right piece over the middle piece, and then the left over the middle piece.
·         Gradually pick up other pieces of hair and continue to cross the hair over the middle section.
·         To make an intricate braid pick up smaller sections of hair.
·         Repeat this until you have completed the braid.
